Security forces have arrested a Hamas terror cell operating in the Hebron area which planned on kidnapping an Israeli soldier, the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) announced on Thursday.

The group's aim was to secure the release of Palestinian security prisoners, and were searching for a hideout apartment to keep their future kidnap victim.

The terror suspects were in the process of setting up a Hamas command in Hebron, according to the Shin Bet.
