Security authorities were dealing with what was deemed a "security situation" near Beersheba and Rahat in southern Israel on Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
Checkpoints have been erected in the area and security vehicles were patrolling the roads.
Motorists have been urged to heed to police orders, however no changes in routine have been instructed by authorities. To report any suspicious activity, the public is urged to call the 100 police hotline.
