Shin Bet: Hamas tunnel operative arrested crossing Gaza border fence

Security forces arrested a 17-year-old Palestinian caught crossing the Gaza Strip border fence in May, the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) announced on Sunday.

An investigation found that the Palestinian was a Hamas operative who was part of a tunnel building battalion in the terror organization.

During questioning he told security forces that Hamas is working on a series of tunnels within Gaza to transfer their fighters. The tunnels are being built in populated civilian areas, such as near mosques and schools.
