With Jerusalem police on high alert throughout the capital, at least 500 Palestinian held Friday prayers near a police checkpoint at the entrance to east Jerusalem's Wadi Joz neighborhood. The prayers were held under heavy police presence, with some 100 policemen deployed in the area. After the prayers ended, some 100 worshipers stood in front of the police checkpoint chanting slogans.
