Ending an impressive Olympic debut, Yakov Toumarkin finished the 200m backstroke final in seventh place with a time of 1:57.62m.
The 20-year-old Toumarkin surprised many in London with a strong showing that pushed him through to the final round of the competitive backstroke competition.
Tyler Clary of the the United States won the competition, while Japan's Ryosuke Irie clinched the silver, and the US's Ryan Lochte took home the bronze.
