Syrian rebels said to agree to ceasefire

BEIRUT - A Free Syrian Army-affiliated rebel official said on Thursday rebels had agreed to a nationwide ceasefire plan backed by Russia and Turkey.
Zakaria Malahifji, head of the political office of rebel group Fastaqim, told Reuters the truce excludes areas under the control of Islamic State only. The Syrian army earlier said the ceasefire excluded Islamic State, the group formerly known as the Nusra Front and all groups linked to them.
