Three US tourists have reportedly been arrested by Iranian authorities after inadvertently crossing into Iranian territory while hiking near the Iraq-Iran border. The US State Department said Friday it was investigating the claims. Two officials from the self-ruled Kurdish region in northern Iraq said the Americans apparently were arrested after entering Iranian territory without permission. The US sent reinforcements to the area to search for the three men.
