Turkish police arrested two suspected Islamic State operatives on Wednesday accused of planning a suicide bombing in Ankara during New Year's Eve revelries on Thursday night, AFP reported.
According to local officials, the two detained Turkish nationals were plotting to attack a central area in the country's capital that is expected to be crowded with celebrations on Thursday night.
"They are suspected of being affiliated with the Islamic State and were planning an attack on the New Year in Ankara," AFP quoted a Turkish official as saying on condition of anonymity.
