UN's Ban seeks replacements for Austrian Golan peacekeepers

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Thursday expressed his regrets at the Austrian decision to pull its peacekeepers from the Golan Heights.
A statement from the secretary-general's office said that he is "approaching member states in an effort to identify urgently new contributors or additional contributions to UNDOF."
Ban called on all countries to "respect UNDOF’s freedom of movement and safety and security."
He condemned the attack which earlier on Thursday caused injuries to two peacekeepers and said that " any military activity in the area of separation has the potential to escalate tensions between Israel and the Syrian Arab Republic and to jeopardize the long-held ceasefire between the two countries."
