US Secretary of State John Kerry landed in Israel on Monday evening as he broke from his travel schedule to try to salvage Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

The US-brokered faced a crisis over the weekend after fourth scheduled Palestinian prisoner release was delayed.

Kerry was scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas during his visit, as well as Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon and Justice Minister Tzipi Livni.
