A video clip filmed by the human rights NGO B’Tselem on Thursday shows an IDF soldier shooting a subdued Palestinian assailant in the head in Hebron.

The army said that following an initial investigation of the incident, the soldier in question has been suspended pending the results of the probe.

“This is a grave incident which contradicts the spirit of the IDF and what is expected of IDF soldiers and commanders,” the army said in a statement to the press. “In light of the initial probe into the incident, a Military Police investigation has been launched.”
