CAIRO - Four people were killed and many more wounded by gunshot and birdshot during protests staged by Islamists at a square in central Cairo on Friday, a witness said.

Supporters of deposed Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi have called for a "Day of Rage" around the nation to protest against a crackdown on their supporters that has killed hundreds of Islamists.
