A young man in his twenties was killed early Saturday morning in a car accident near Kiryat Ata. Another young man was seriously injured and four others were lightly injured in the collision between two vehicles. The injured were evacuated to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa. From the initial police investigation, it appeared that one car had stopped by the side of the road after a malfunction, and another car drove into the parking vehicle. The young man who was killed and his friend, who was seriously hurt, were standing outside the parked car when the accident occurred.
