Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf said that Iran would not accept negotiations beneath the shadow of threats, and is prepared to reveal new cards on the battlefield in a post on his X/Twitter account early Tuesday morning.

Ghalibaf claimed that US President Trump had violated the ceasefire between the two countries by "imposing a siege," and that he is seeking Iran's surrender or a justification to return to war.

Earlier on Monday, the President of Iran, Massoud Pezeshkian, also criticized the conduct of the US, claiming that US officials were sending "unconstructive and contradictory signals."

"They seek Iran's surrender," Pezeshkian wrote. "Iranians do not submit to force."

Pezeshkian pushes for diplomacy, reform

Pezeshkian has been supportive of diplomacy in recent days, calling for an end to the war as soon as possible in order for Iran to focus on reconstruction, CNN reported on Monday.

According to CNN, Pezeshkian has been promoting a more moderate tone than other officials in a series of meetings with public workers, emphasizing the need for negotiation

"Every rational and diplomatic path must be used to reduce tensions," he said in one meeting.

During a meeting at the Justice Ministry, Pezeshkian also called for reforms within Iran, CNN wrote, citing Pezeshkian as saying that Iran's future needs "honesty in speech, transparency in performance, and strengthening public trust."

“People must be informed of the realities of the country. Providing inaccurate information or unrealistic promises not only does not help resolve issues but will also weaken public trust,” he said.
