Two rockets fired from Gaza fell in southern Israel in  the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council on Saturday before midnight.

The rockets landed in open areas and there was no damage reported.

Earlier on Saturday, a rocket launched toward southern Israel exploded in open territory near the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council.

Saturday's attacks were the latest in a string of rocket firings emanating from the Palestinian enclave over the past week.

On Friday night, the Iron Dome rocket defense system successfully intercepted a rocket fired from over the southern city of Ashkelon.

The Israel Air Force similarly retaliated on Friday with targeted strikes on terror sites in Gaza.
