The Knesset participated in a Home Front Command drill on Wednesday, simulating what would happen if a missile struck outside the Knesset and dozens were wounded.
Knesset security and medical staff worked together with the Home Front Command and Magen David Adom.
“The Knesset has a highquality force that is prepared and trained to take care of this kind of event until outside forces take over,” Knesset Security Officer Yosef Grif said. “We are responsible for a very large place, and I am sure we will give the best response.”
Meanwhile, Hadassah University Medical Center on Mount Scopus in Jerusalem held a chemical warfare drill with the hospital staff “treating” 115 “wounded.”
Supervised by the IDF’s Home Front Command and the Health Ministry, the exercise was coordinated by hospital director-general Dr.
Osnat Levtzion-Korach and watched by Health Minister Yael German and Hadassah Women’s Zionist Organization of America national president Marcie Natan.
The soldiers, as well as human-sized dolls, were washed down with water before they were treated by medical staffers wearing special protective gear. The drill was deemed a success.
