A petition calling for the dismissal of a college professor after his husband reportedly berated Ivanka Trump on a flight last week has garnered thousands of signatures, Fox News reported Thursday.
Ivanka Trump, flying with her family to San Fransisco last Thursday, was allegedly confronted by an "agitated" Jewish lawyer who verbally attacked her aboard the flight, claiming that her father, president-elect Donald Trump, was "ruining the country.”
Daniel Goldstein, 35, an employment lawyer in Brooklyn, was removed from the JetBlue flight leaving from John F. Kennedy International Airport along with his husband, Hunter College Professor Matt Lasner, for harassing Trump as she sat alongside her children.
Nearly 7,000 people have so far signed the petition, posted by a group calling themselves Right Wing Millennials, to remove Lasner from his position as an urban studies and planning professor at the New York City college.
Lasner took to social media shortly before boarding the JetBlue flight, stating that his husband was going to "harass" the president-elect's family.
Lasner later deleted the message along with his Twitter account, according to Fox News.
"The fact that he tried to cover up and change the story around to avoid the consequences of his actions is also a testament to his character. He is NOT a good example for our youth," read the petition.

The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, which operates Kennedy Airport, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
