Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry are celebrating the birth of their first child.
The couples' twitter account posted on Monday afternoon, "We are pleased to announce that their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their first child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019."
The royal couple first announced the pregnancy in October 2018 and the Duchess was last seen on an official engagement on 19 March when she signed a book of condolences in London for the victims of the Christchurch terror attack.
The new royal baby, who will be seventh in line for the British throne, will not become a prince, due to a limit on royal titles, but will be able to use one of Prince Harry's lesser titles.
