This is your chance to voice your opinion. We've chosen a controversial / interesting entry that appeared on our site (talkback, blog, etc...) and we want to know what you have to say about it. TODAY'S HOT POTATO: Taken from article: Cabinet okays new conversion body Talkback #: 6 + 19 Talkbacker: Yitzhak and Nick Lees Text: Yitzhak: Since these "non-Jews" were sufficiently Jewish to be persecuted 24 hours a day, generation after generation, in their former countries before they became Israelis, they must be accepted as Jews. Some flexibility must be shown as long as these people are sincere. Nick: A mass conversion of 150,000 people will cheapen the hard work and dedication of observant converts. It's clear that these Russians have no intent of remaining observant post-mikveh, so the whole shpiel would be a joke. The ones who are serious and have a 'pintele yid' have overcome the "rigorous" obstacles, and the others are weeded out. Leave it as it is. What do you think? The ball is in your court now.
