Chile reports first 2 swine flu cases

Chile confirmed its first two cases of swine flu Sunday in two women who arrived from the Dominican Republic. The women, ages 25 and 32, are hospitalized and in good condition, Health Minister Alvaro Erazo said. They arrived early Saturday from the Dominican resort of Punta Cana with a stopover in Panama. Erazo said authorities had contacted 80 of the 102 passengers also aboard the Copa Airlines flight to determine their condition. All were asked to voluntarily stay home for a few days. The six crew members returned to Panama. Chile so far has checked 171 suspected swine flu cases, with only two confirmed. The Dominican Republic has not confirmed any swine flu cases.
