Health Ministry issues warning on Kibbutz Sha'ar Hagolan rabid dog

Several people at Kibbutz Sha'ar Hagolan were bitten by a rabid dog on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 22. The Health Ministry said Tuesday that results from a test confirming rabies in the white, medium-sized dog had just become available. The ministry said that anyone who had been in contact with such a dog - or parents who suspected their children might have - between October 8 to October 25 should immediately contact the District Health Office in Tiberias at (04) 6710300. Anyone who is bitten or scratched by an animal should wash it immediately with running water and soap, apply antiseptic and go immediately to the nearest district health office.
