2 held over far-right attack on German policeman

Investigators say they have arrested a married couple suspected of involvement in a presumed neo-Nazi attack on a city police chief. Lead investigator Helmut Walch said Thursday a court has ordered the 22-year-old woman and 33-year-old man to be held in custody on suspicion of being accessories to attempted murder. They were taken into custody in the Munich area on Tuesday. Police chief Alois Mannichl was stabbed in the chest at his home in the southern city of Passau on Saturday by a skinhead who called himself a member of the "national resistance." German neo-Nazis often use that term to describe themselves.
