A suicide car bomber blew himself up Sunday near an Afghan army convoy in eastern Afghanistan, killing five civilians and wounding six people, including five soldiers, police said. The attack happened near the city of Mihtarlam in Laghman province, said provincial police chief Abdul Karim. Three children were among those killed, he said.
