At least 20 killed in blasts in northeast India

Police say at least 20 people have been killed and dozens wounded after 11 bombs exploded across India's northeastern state of Assam. An official at the police control room in the state capital Gauhati says that at least 10 died in four blasts in the city and 10 more in other cities and towns in the western part of the state. An Associated Press reporter at the scene of one of the blasts in Gauhati says flames are leaping from charred cars, bodies strewn across the road and a thick stream of black smoke is spiraling up above the city.
