Musharraf: 'Terrorists' responsible for the killing of Benazir Bhutto

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said Wednesday that the death of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was a great tragedy for the nation and blamed "terrorists" for her assassination. In a nationally televised address, Musharraf said he was grieving as much as the rest of Pakistan over Bhutto's slaying in a suicide attack after a campaign rally last Wednesday. "The nation has experienced a great tragedy. Benazir Bhutto has died in the hands of terrorists. I pray to God almighty to put the eternal soul of Benazir at peace," he said. He blamed "many miscreants and some political elements" of taking advantage of the tragedy to loot and plunder.
