Pakistan army: Suicide attack kills 3 troops

A suicide bomber detonated his vehicle outside a security post in Pakistan's volatile northwest Tuesday, killing three troops and wounding six others, officials said. Insurgent rocket fire followed the initial attack, and several militants were believed to have been killed when troops returned fire. The attack occurred at school building in the Swat Valley's Kabal area that security forces were using as a gathering point as part of an operation against militants. The valley was once a popular tourist destination but has been besieged by insurgents like other pockets in Pakistan's northwest.
