French officials say two suspected members of the Basque separatist group ETA have been arrested in eastern France. The Interior Ministry says one of those arrested, Asiser Eceiza Ayerra, is a leader in ETA's military wing. A police official says the Spanish couple were detained Friday in Arceau, Burgundy, while apparently fleeing the scene of a car accident. ETA has waged its armed campaign for an independent Basque state in northern Spain and western France since 1968.
