Roadside bomb kills 2 Polish soldiers in eastern Afghanistan

A roadside bomb blast killed two Polish NATO soldiers in eastern Afghanistan, officials said Wednesday.
NATO also announced the seizure of US$400 million worth of opium in the south, and at least 15 other people were reported killed in other violence across the country.
The roadside explosion hit the Polish troops in the Sharan district of Paktika province Tuesday, said NATO's International Security Assistance Force, under which the Polish soldiers were serving.
The soldiers were returning from a humanitarian aid meeting in a village when their Humvee drove over a mine, Maj. Dariusz Kacperczyk, spokesman for the Polish army operational command, said in Warsaw.
