Russia said on Friday that sanctions against Iran should not be discussed until there is proof that they are attempting to develop nuclear weapons. US Intelligence head John Negroponte said that Iran's nuclear ambitions were concerning, since Iran was determined to obtain nuclear weapons. Still, he noted that there remained several years before it possessed the bomb, Israel Radio reported. The United Nations Security Council's deadline for Iran to comply with international demands, including cessation of uranium enrichment will expire in one week.
