Sudan: helicopter carrying aid crashes; 4 dead

The N.-African Union Darfur peacekeeping force says four Russian crew members died after their helicopter crashed in south Darfur. Ahmad Salah, spokesman for UNAMID says the aircraft crashed Monday in Nyala, the provincial capital of South Darfur. He says the plane belongs to the Sudanese Supreme Company, which was contracted by UNAMID to deliver food supplies. Kemal Saiki, another spokesman for the force, told the UN-run Miraya radio station that there are reports that the plane was shot at by an unknown party.
