Insurgent fire in central Afghanistan brought down a US helicopter on Monday, the military said. No one was killed.
Lt. Cmdr. Walter Matthews, a US military spokesman, said the chopper was attacked in Wardak province.
Matthews said that "all persons have been extracted and there were no casualties."
He said the helicopter crew exchanged fire with insurgents before the chopper was hit by gunfire that forced it down.
