Activists from the Likud youth wing hung a sign overnight on Tuesday on the gates of the historic Histadrut building in Tel Aviv, which took a swipe at former labor union leader Avi Nissenkorn, who left his post to join the Blue and White Party.

The sign read, "The Ministry of Finance headed by Avi Nissenkorn." The former labor union leader is vying for the finance minister position if the Blue and White party wins Tuesday's elections.

According to the Likud youth wing, "the aim of the sign is to remind the voters that today they must go to the polling stations because a Blue and White government led by [Yair] Lapid and [Benny] Gantz is liable to run the Israeli economy according to Avi Nissenkorn's worldview...which will bring about the collapse of the Israeli economy and an increase in the cost of living."

David Shine, chairman of the Likud youth movement, advised that "anyone interested in another four years of economic growth, low unemployment, an increase in capital investment and a lowering of the cost of living should remember that only the Likud government headed by [Prime Minister] Benjamin Netanyahu is the way to do so."
