Police nab Palestinian bird smuggler with 12 protected birds
The protected birds had been taken care of badly, kept under a net in the back of the car.

Border police officers caught a Palestinian suspected of illegally transporting 12 protected birds near the Palestinian town of Barta'a.During standard patrols in the Reihan crossing area, the soldiers identified a vehicle that raised their suspicion. As they searched the vehicle, the police found 12 protected birds of the European Goldfinch breed.The protected birds were poorly taken care of, kept under a net in the back of the suspect's car. The birds were likely intended to be sold off in Barta'a.The suspect, in his 40s, is a resident of Jenin. He was taken in for questioning, along with the birds.
