Two of Israel’s leading filmmakers, Avi Nesher and Tomer Heymann (center and 3rd from left), were honored with lifetime achievement awards at the 15th Monterey International Film Festival in Mexico this week. Nesher presented his latest film, the critical and box-office hit The Other Story, and Heymann showed his documentary about an Israeli gay porn star, Jonathan Agassi Saved My Life, as well as some of their earlier films, to enthusiastic audiences.
