1. Rabin Medical
The Rabin Medical Center’s annual gala took place at the Hilton Tel Aviv recently. The event raised about NIS 7m., which will go toward developing the Belinson Campus’s ENT and Head and Neck Surgery departments.

Friends of the Rabin Medical Center, led by Pinhas Cohen, chairman of Noy Fund, organized the event, inviting donors and friends of the medical center.

The guest of honor was Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman. Those also in attendance were: Clalit Health Fund CEO Noaz Bar Nir, Hava and Shimon Topor, who were given the distinguished friends award for all that they had done to help improve the hospital, Rony Hizkiyahu, Varda and Boaz Dotan, Rakefet Russak-Aminoach and many more.

2. Opel Israel
Opel Israel has launched its new mid-luxury car, the automatic-transmission Insignia. Chairman of Shlomo Holdings and importer of the Opel brand Asi Shmeltzer and Opel Israel CEO Hezi Shayb presented the new model at the EAST Hall in Tel Aviv.

3. Ski break Strategic adviser Sefi Shaked and his wife, Luca, celebrated a successful year of political and commercial campaigns this year with a ski holiday in Switzerland.

They also celebrated Luca’s completing her Kellogg-Recanati International Executive MBA.

4. Sigalit Landau
At Sigalit Landau’s studio in Tel Aviv on Thursday, there was a private event in honor of her recently launched crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to help publish her book, Salt Years, which sums up 15 years of creations involving the Dead Sea.

Landau told the story of how the book came about, showed the video that will be promoting the crowdfunding campaign and invited her guests to support the publication.

5. Malls and chain stores
The 12th annual Israel Mall & Chain Store Conference took place last week in Eilat, organized by chairman Dedi Rizel. During the opening event, founder of the conference Leon Koffler, who is chairman and owner of SuperPharm, was given a lifetime achievement award for his work and contribution to the retail industry in Israel. Superstar designer Karim Rashid spoke at the event about industrial design in the digital age.
