Could the world see a showdown between Gal Gadot and Kristen Wiig in 2019?

According to reports in Deadline and Variety, the comedian, former Saturday Night Live cast member and Bridesmaids star is in talks to appear in Wonder Woman 2.

Wiig is reportedly Warner Bros.’ top choice to play the villain opposite Gadot’s Wonder Woman in the sequel to last summer’s runaway hit. The movie, which has yet to begin filming, is slated to hit theaters in November 2019. According to The Independent, the role was turned down by Oscar winner Emma Stone.

The villain in question is Cheetah, the alter ego of British anthropologist Barbara Ann Minerva, and the film is set during the Cold War. Shooting is scheduled to begin this summer. Patty Jenkins will be returning as director and is said to also be co-writing the script.

Now all we have to do is wait a year-and-a-half to enjoy it!
