Police filed an indictment on Wednesday against a 45-year-old Netanya resident for assaulting his 73-year-old neighbor, causing intracranial hemorrhage, and a broken nose and a broken elbow.
In addition, the police requested that his detention be extended.
According to The Jerusalem Post’s sister paper Maariv, on February 3, the police received a report of an attack on an elderly woman that had taken place a week prior, on Herzl Street in Netanya. The investigation revealed that the complainant, aged 73, lived next door to the suspect and on the day of the incident in the afternoon, she heard shouts and went to the suspect's apartment.
The suspect attacked her, picking her up with both hands and throwing her onto the ground. Then, he kicked her repeatedly while she lied on the floor screaming for help.
As a result of the attack, the complainant was hospitalized at Laniado Hospital and suffered intracranial hemorrhage, suspicion of a broken nose and a fracture in her right elbow that required surgical treatment.
The suspect was arrested and interrogated and was indicted on charges of assaulting an old woman and causing serious injury. In addition, the suspect has been put under arrest until the court holds legal proceedings against him.
