Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition collapsed and elections for the next Knesset will be held in April 2019, coalition leaders announced on Monday.
The announcement came shortly after Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid said in a press conference that he would vote against the Defense Ministry’s bill to enlist haredim into the IDF.
In a statement before Lapid's press conference, the Likud stated that "this time is a test for Lieberman and Lapid: Will they honor their commitment to the public and support this important law, or will they engage in petty politics at the expense of the IDF and Israeli society?
