The principal of a school in a Beduin township near Beersheba is in critical condition on Thursday after he was shot by unidentified assailants.

The victim, a 43-year-old male, was shot on Thursday near the municipal building of Kuseife, the small Beduin village just west of the Negev town of Arad. Police have launched a manhunt in search of the shooter.

The police emergency dispatcher received a report early Thursday morning about a shooting near the Kuseife municipality building.

The principal was quickly evacuated for treatment at a local health clinic. He was suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body.
