A place in the final is likely beyond him, but just coming close to his achievement from four years ago would be regarded as a great success for the veteran of Israel’s swim team.

Schedule in Rio: 400-meter individual medley qualifiers, final – August 6; 200-meter butterfly qualifiers, semifinal – August 8, final – August 9; 200-meter individual medley qualifiers, semifinal – August 10, final – August 11

Career highlight: Silver medal in 200m individual medley at European Championships in 2016

Outlook for Rio: Nevo will be taking part in his third straight Olympics, which will likely also be his last. After finishing in 11th and 13th in the 400m and 200m IM in Beijing 2008, he improved to 10th in both events in London 2012. A place in the final of one of his main swims is likely beyond him, but just coming close to his achievement from four years ago would be regarded as a great success for the veteran of Israel’s swim team.
