Stop monkeying around: Four primates reported stolen, two found dead in kibbutz

Authorities allegedly examining suspicion that prisoners involved in community service were involved in stealing animals from petting zoo at Kibbutz Hahotrim.

Police received a report Saturday morning that thieves had stolen four monkeys from the petting zoo at Kibbutz Hahotrim, near Haifa.
Two other primates were found dead at the premise.
Police were investigating the incident and have not yet arrested any suspects.
Authorities were allegedly examining the suspicion that prisoners involved in community service were involved in stealing the animals, Channel 2 reported.
According to the report, two of the missing monkey were of the lemur species while the other two were said to be squirrel monkeys.
