Due to a technical malfunction, the Memorial Day siren at the Kirya army base in Tel Aviv was activated.

Even though the siren was supposed to go off at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Israelis in the surrounding area apparently forgot the schedule.
Pedestrians stopped in their tracks and drivers pulled over and got out of their cars to stand at attention.
The moment provided a bit of comic relief as Israel gears up for Memorial Day ceremonies.
