A segment of the walls around Old Acre suddenly collapsed Monday morning, though no one was trapped under the debris or harmed. The walls were completed during the Ottoman era, in the year 1840.
Teams from the Acre firefighting station rushed to the scene and were joined by an emergency service car from the Haifa fire fighting station.
Due to damage caused to gas and water infrastructure, the fire fighters evacuated 14 gas canisters.
