Israeli politicians convened on Sunday with representatives of the Jewish Agency and American reform and conservative leaders to discuss their concern regarding the recent decision to nix a government plan for an egalitarian prayer section at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. The topic of recognition of non-Orthodox conversions is also on the docket.

The two government decisions created a firestorm Sunday among diaspora Jews, many of whom see the move as alienating and dismissive of their place in the Jewish people.
