18,610 students in 42 schools across Israel will not start the new school year due to strikes, it was revealed to the Education Ministry on Sunday morning.
Schools in Sderot and in other areas of the Negev were on strike in protest of the absence of proper defenses against Kassam rocket attacks.
In the Acre neighborhood of Yirka, schooling was set to be delayed as teachers protested the non-payment of their salaries.
