A 60-year-old woman was seriously injured after nearly drowning at the Bat Galim beach in Haifa on Saturday morning.
The woman was conscious when she was evacuated to Rambam Hospital in the city but was suffering from severe breathing problems.
An initial investigation into the incident found that the woman had suddenly lost her ability to swim while in the water.
