Air Force reintroduces its Tzukit light aircraft

The Air Force reintroduced its Tzukit light aircraft back into service on Wednesday after an inquiry found that a fatal crash of the plane last week, in which a cadet and pilot instructor were killed, was "almost certainly not the fault of a technical error." Capt. Matan Asa, 24, of Yavneh and Cadet Carmi Ilan, 19, of Herzliya were killed last Wednesday when their plane crashed in the Negev desert. On Wednesday evening, the Air Force said in a statement that a subsequent inquiry had ruled out technical error, leading Air Force Chief Maj.-Gen. Ido Nehushtan to order the Tzukit back into service. Nehushtan visited the IAF's flight school in Palmahim on Wednesday, where he told cadets and instructors he had full faith in their abilities.
