Barak: Israel has an interest in resolving conflict with Syria

Israel has an interest in resolving its conflict with Syria while protecting its vital interests and security needs, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said Sunday.
The statement was an apparent response to recent comments by Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman to the effect that Syria was not a partner for peace.
