Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva sent a thank-you telegram to President Moshe Katsav on Monday following blessings sent earlier by Katsav to the Latin American leader congratulating him on winning re-election.
In his letter, Lula da Silva said he was proud of his country's Jewish community and that he wished for peace and prosperity in Israel.
The Brazilian president added that he hoped for a continuance of the friendly relations between the two nations.
