Brother of alleged crime boss Alperon suspected of attacking police

Zalman Alperon, the brother of alleged crime kingpins Nissim and Yaakov Alperon, was arrested along with several others on suspicion of attacking police officers in Givat Shmuel, police said Friday. In the Thursday night incident, Alperon and his friends allegedly hurled a tire at the police officers who were trying to arrest them and shot towards them as they they sped away from the policemen in a vehicle. One of the policemen was moderately wounded and the other was lightly hurt. Alperon said he mistook the police officers for people who were trying to hurt him.
